Welcome to our website where you can find out a bit about us and our dogs.
We live in a small hamlet in the New Forest in Hampshire, we bought Hyde Farm, a listed 16th century farmhouse last summer and we are currently renovating it and bringing it back to it's proper condition after 20 years of neglect, we have three acres of land with the house and 40 acres across the road in which we keep our horses, mainly Haflingers and New Forest ponies, we also haveba small herd of highland and some Charolaise cattle which we run out on the Forest to exercise our common rights.
We have two children aged 4 and 6 and we also foster children so we have lots of children around all the time who are very useful in socialising puppies, our house is always busy as we are a very active family.
Chris is keen on shooting and he trains and works the dogs, I am very keen on falconry and in the past have used Zac with my Red Tailed Hawk Shamen who has sadly now passed away, I hope to replace him next year and start again.
I worked previously as a veterinary nurse, I have always had dogs, weimaraners for the past eighteen years and more recently the Hungarian Vizsla which I find is a superb dog to both work and have as a family pet.
We bought our first weimaraner Tara, bred from Munroes Afshan 18 years ago, we were persuaded by a local breeder to have a litter of pups with her as she was such a good example of the breed with an exceptional temperment and working abilities, we were approached by the then King of Spain who bought one of the litter whom I undertsand he was very pleased with - we never got an invite to the Palace!
We still have a pup from Tara, Poppy, she is very like her mother and we are very fond of her, sadly Tara passed away four years ago.
We decided to buy a suitable dog to use as a stud as the travelling involved in finding a quality stud dog was too much with our busy lifestyle so we bought, Mariajon The Silver Strider (Zac) who is bred on Gunalt and Stormdancer lines.
Our dogs lead a very happy life, Zac and Maya have always lived in the house, the other dogs have a lined and insulated building set in a acre of paddock which they are free to roam around in at will during the day, they have lots of toys and meaty bones and seem very happy and content, they all get walked out on the open Forest twice daily and are fed a quality diet including raw meat every day, I work from home running a care home that we own so the dogs always have someone around to supervise them
HYDE FARM BEFORE THE RENOVATIONS!
